After the temporary reprieve of a rising White Middle Class in the 1950s and very early 60s then JFK was assassinated, followed by Martin Luther King, Jr. and then Bobby Kennedy.

When Nixon was elected the rich began their foothold - cemented by Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich - with Ronald Reagan. This was followed by and Bill Clinton's sell-out of Democrats' roots by pandering to the right of center.

Its been downhill ever since. I have faith in grassroots movements ( I may be Don Quixote, though.)
