An old boss once said "Boredom is the flip-side of peace." and is a non sequitur to my response here.
I have rarely been bored. This is due to my ADD brain, which has taken many years to tame. Although it flies out of the stall in wild bucking-bronco chaos at least once a day.
I have been able to channel it - somewhat due to a vigorous training in logic with my father so we could engage in deductive logic "arguments".
Nevertheless I always followed a premise: deal with the most challenging uncomfortable obstacles first instead of lollygagging with spending time in distraction mode. Besides its all temporary. Consciousness has or is permanent.
In short: I love your methods.
