I’ve struggled with how to tell a story about solving complex problems that involve violence. How can we avoid violence when we are beset by violence? How can we recover/reconstitute from perpetrated violence? I wanted to address how people resolve differences when acting-out violence is imminent. I’ve received visions of human evolution. The stories that follow are visions translated into words.
My father had some good questions about the television series Kung Fu. He asked me about the protagonist.
“He is supposed to be a man of peace but gets into a fight wherever he goes. How come? How can he be a man of peace if he is fighting all the time?” my Dad put forth. I did not have a satisfactory answer. I suggested that he was defending himself.
He attracted racist people to himself that hated his peaceful demeanor. They sought to teach him a lesson, or put him in his place. He defended himself.
