As long as everyone of us (me included) is addicted to the comforts of Western Civilization based on the continuous growth model of capitalism then there will be no change.

What this means as Earth balances herself from our excesses is the deaths of 799,800,000 to 799,900,000 people. That number of people dying is unimaginable. Or somewhere between 1 to 2 million people remaining on the planet.

No electricity, no running water, no computers, no internet, no agriculture to speak of (even accounting for the pittance of people living underground in luxury for several hundred years). IMO.
