At first I thought where does Marcus get off thinking he is a God. Is he mirroring his position (or his narrator's) with the "power of positive thought is bullshit" line? Accidental satire? Then I thought:
Nah - this is brilliant.
Satire - a bit, yes -- holding up the mirror to those who are addicted to worship the "Power of positive thought". How can this be a power when it doesn't include the negative and the neutral at the very least. There are trillions of other possibilities.
On another level -marketing spirituality is a failure on the level of spirit. For capitalism and making money, oh sure - a success for those looking for an immediate fix.
The photo seems self-explanatory. The innocence boldness of the feminine in a natural world. Or maybe it's an Adam, the photographer off screen, and Eve metaphor. Too deep? Not enough? Somewhere in-between.
I love it when you don't explain BTW. It leaves room for an expansive poem or piece to unfold as a participatory rite of passage for us readers.
