Bill, great article for most people. When I was in my 20s a job counselor told me I should read "What Color is Your Parachute". And so I did.

The best and most memorable take-away was (is) his question: " What is your philosophy of life? This question was key to changing my life, as your question is too. I knew I had a philosophy - I just hadn't never written it down. Writing it down changed everything.

"What am I living my life for?" Is a good question for those that read and think to help focus the mind onto meaningful paths. The cool thing is that this question of yours can be re-purposed along to path, like - having chosen something - maybe going back to school to get a Masters degree the "What am I living life for?" gains new meaning when applied to a specific path or the larger aim.
