Buddhism's stance on hope: Hope takes us out of the present moment and is based on fear . A friend who has studied this type of Buddhism and I entered into a discussion about it. A lot of people put their faith in hope which I view as a good thing even if it is an illusion.

I have been thinking about Global Warming aka The Climate Crisis lately. I live in California and its fire season. I feel we need to go all-in on every climate solution possible. And I don't think it will be enough, but I didn't want to be cowering somewhere saying I didn't do enough to alter the course of this behemoth that humans created collectively.

Yes, anybody is worth fighting for, but not from hope, but from the sanctity of life.
