Cancel culture while serving good intentions has lost its frame of reference in some areas. It seems to want to eliminate hate - a good thing but at the expense of learning not to repeat it by erasing history.
The right has certainly twisted the motives of cancel culture to fit its fascistic agenda.
Might there be a middle way between eliminating hate speech and cancel culture's frenzied quest for perfection? In the case of removing statues for example -good to do for reasons of reminding us all that there is no room for hate and its eliminates shame and misses an educational opportunity.
