Doubt is an emotion.

Descartes elevates doubt to a part of intellectual inquiry without acknowledging fear as a motivator for doubt.

The premise of the philosophy of Descartes is based on a bias - doubt is divorced from emotion. The age of reason / enlightenment is a divide, dissect, and replicate - the basis of scientific inquiry. What is absent is the emotional precursors / biases of philosophers.

Acknowledging fear as a basis of doubt is a way of including emotion in the cognitive. Our corporeal bodies are the repositories of all memories conscious and unconscious - as well as habits: good, neutral, and "bad" or unproductive.

Existence out of habit, comfort and entitlement seem to be one example of the thrust of unexamined biases.

I have known that I exist in the peeling away of illusions. Underneath illusions in ideas "thought", emotion (derivatives of Love), and somatic/corporeal sensations and beyond in mystical epiphanies there is a knowing - "I AM".
