Forests, fields, rivers, mountains and oceans are homes to many species of plants, animals / insects. In our current age we would not "own" people of cities, towns and rural areas. The living beings we share Earth with are not our slaves. Therefore stewardship is one of the ways forward. All inhabitants of Earth are sacred, biological beings and the resources (blood, tissues and bone) of Earth.

[Caveat: many people of Earth are treated as slaves - is it any wonder that we treat Earth as "the earth" an object instead of a being. I always capitalize Earth because she is a being, not an object to be abused.]
