Great piece. Are you familiar with Ted Nace's book - Gangs of America: The Rise of Corporate Power and The Disabling of American Democracy? The founding fathers set up laws to limit the powers of corps, and this was circumvented in a landmark court case by a court clerk who also worked for the one of the transcontinental railroads. He summarized the courts findings in favor of the railroad (which was not the judge's intent). Nevertheless lawyers have used the summary to help cement the corps power hold on democracy. It makes us all slaves IMO.
