Though Gren was hungry he decided not to eat his last few morsels of food. He pressed on — along the well-worn path. Up a slow ascent. And up the mound he hoped would lead him to the end of the desert and the great mountain.
A path worn by erosion of wind? he wondered. Or by small animals?
Both. He decided.
All day he climbed through the white cold of the clouds. He moved toward an odd-shaped cylinder leaning to one side. As he drew closer he saw that it was a tower many feet high, with view ports near its top. At the base of the tower, he retreated inside his Spirit Coat and slept. Dreams of Silken washed over him.
