Gren awoke. He felt warm and strange. A distant rumble. Faint screams. Darkness. He thrashed the bed in sleep.
A tall woman ran through the room as Gren opened an eye. Followed by two chambermaids and a butler on the run. Gren fell back into sleep.
He opened both eyes. A white bear — six feet tall on hind legs towered over the foot of the bed. The bear lowered putting his paws on the foot board, mouth hung open in a snarl, drooling. Gren remained calm and still. They looked each other in the eyes. The woman ran through the room again. The bear swung around. His claw grabbed her…
