Green slipped into the bed beside Wry. He became spirit-Gren. His mother sandwiched the spirit of their unborn child with her husband, Wry. Gren was weeks away from conception. Wry and Gren’s mother, Ari-El, returned from their marriage ceremony deep within Gusha’s source. It was the spring that fed the streams in the lower regions of the Gusha Oasis.
After eating, Ari-El performed the first ceremony with the rare mushroom Holli-Hak-Da. Wry prepared for the second ceremony with garments gifted by his great-grandmother and by fasting. They finished the two ceremonies a few hours later. They each ate one-third of the dried old mushroom prepared by the One.
