Here in Northern California, a Bomb Cyclone storm is affecting Washington State, leaving millions without power. Tornadoes have been reported in the far north of California.

Fortunately I live in an area not prone to flooding. Rivers like the Russian River (north of here about 40 miles or so are likely to flood soon). I read this morning that an inflatable dam has been deployed on a river capable of holding back 180,000 gallons of water and releasing it slowly. So cool.
