I agree there is no free will, but not for the same reasons that Sapolsky states and others like him.

I posit:

The seamless merging of the tech of language with the human brain creates the delay between thought and action on conscious awareness. This has never - at least to my knowledge -been tested experimentally.

How Free Will does not Occur

We humans think in associations that are sometimes presented as an either/or proposition. Such as "If there is no free will, everything is predetermined."

When I look at free will - it exists along a continuum. The final answer why there is no free will is about context. We believe what was passed on to us. Or we may rebel against a passed on belief. But as long as that remains a reaction we are enslaved to the original belief through opposition. This is the nexus of my hypothesis of why ultimate free will does not exist. People who can create based on nothing - no current or prior beliefs have free will. An ability to act and manifest based on nothing...
