I am not an engineer or a scientist but that does not preclude my ablility to problem-solve through rational and perhaps holistic manners.

Besides obvious solutions towards sustainablility there are a number of other possibilities to generate electricity: hydroelectric power utilizing tides in the ocean, fuel cell tech, generating solar power on orbital platforms and beaming it to Earth (as Bucky Fuller suggested). It seems to me that all of these manners of tech must be employed concurrently to assist in solving the problem.

And tech alone isn't the sole answer. Conservation is part of the answer as well. By changing consumeristic capitalism into a sustainable force - a materialistic capitalism could be employed instead as if once existed through craftsmen or craftspeople. My parents bought a GE toaster in the mid-fifties which I now have and I use to make perfect toast 2 to 3 days a week.

I love the idea of free money, hell, no money and everything is free. Obviously we are not ready for a "no-money" "everything is free" economy.

Sustainability is something we need to work towards quickly. Its far from perfect and it alone without us, industry and government won't work very well, if at all.

One non-profit I look towards as a possible holistic solution is: https://www.drawdown.org/

BTW since 2005 I convinced my clients I could work with them remotely by phone, and Skype. I have clients internationally.
