I applaud your quest!
And - briefly here are some of my Cliff Notes:
In the 60s and 70s many of my generation were searching for truth (universal and personal) and for a purpose.
Below - One and two came from teachings and teachers. Three and four were (are) about how one and two unfolded to some degree (the process is on-going).
1. write out of philosophy of life (this can be based on what your passions, dreams and visions were as a child) For instance - as a child I loved exploring nature - this led to learning about everything I could. And this curiosity to learn is with me today.
"Learn for the sake of learning."
2. Perhaps our philosophy is based on an aim. An aim is infinite and universal. Aim is something that can be done repeatedly forever. For instance - my aim is to relieve suffering. Goals can be connected to aims but they are finite and have a beginning, middle and end.
3. For me unfolding my aim and subsequent goals based on likes from childhood and my paragraph and list from my philosophy of which one of the tenets is: "To be a student and teacher everyday." For me philosophy, aims and goals originated as I worked to develop a core within myself (it had already been there) and see how it reflected through my perceptual filters into the world at large.
4. I've been lucky and there have been some passages through a few personal hells. I've been blessed with "answers" from the mystical worlds. Nevertheless in my work as guide and healer everyone I've worked with has been doing their purpose without realizing or having been conscious of it. I assist people to become aware of their purpose and hone it into a mission or larger purpose, recognize potentialities, talents and offer tools and practices to hone these into skills.
Notes: Surrendering into purpose and facilitating work with others is my life blood. My work with others (and on myself) is my life's blood - it sustains me and transcends ego at times - into timeless realms of spirit.
