I became invisible too by becoming someone else. In my 20s I'd had many blackouts. It wasn't until I was 40 - when I started having flashbacks of childhood abuse and was diagnosed with a Dissociative Disorder (used to be called Multiple Personality D/O) that I fully understood my invisibility.

I'm 72 and I've done tons of therapy. Besides a grief intensive - started in 2019 and is continuing. I'm not completely out of the invisibility cloak. I am working on it.

The quality of your writing is spot on regarding invisibility.
