I can't watch horror films on television because they're horrifying. All those apocalyptic films are in my opinion attempting to numb us - perhaps on a conscious or unconsciouse level of the impeding doom of societial collapse based on climate change and/or isolationism. I won't support the capitaliszation of future fears in the present.

Of course the thrill is a momentary aliveness ot from the waking death of daily life. But life is not a film or a drama. It may never end. A population that has become numb will not say no.
