I fell in-love with 3-D stop-motion animation when I went to the first Fordham University Young Filmmakers Festival in 1968 in NYC in February (during a garbage strike). The winner of the festival was "The Ace". It was about a bunch of guys driving cars without cars. It was guys sitting on their butts with steering wheels only, sliding around a track, complete with accidents.
There I met a bunch of geeks from Long Island who made Godzilla and dinosaur stop-motion animations in model cities in their basements.
When my buddy and I went home we began making stop-motion short animation films.
So I know what you mean. It was my passion.
