I love the broad strokes of your language with it's lush imagery, the wide inclusiveness, the rich rhythms of Earth. Beautiful. Thank-you.
I didn't know what a Laser sailboat looked like, so I looked it up. It looks like a fast boat, on the small side, yet fast and sleek in its daring do. A boat built for Long Island Sound. I sailed with my father on my uncle's boats. Started with a cat boat, a lightning and a 26 foot Rhodes Sloop, They were all wooden boats.
We never wore life jackets - just foul weather gear. My great grandfather and his son - my grandfather on my mom's side sailed clipper ships. If anyone fell overboard in those days they were never rescued, they were presumed death.
