I was once like you - before personal computers. I gave it all up for mystery.
However - a caveat: I started a milestone list on a spreadsheet. I found that when I worked for my self in a business if was more difficult to remember stuff. I began the list on a word processor and hung them on walls. In the 1990s I got a computer and started the milestone list.
As you may already know all thought is associative. Within associative thinking are many subsets. When I read the spread sheet my memory is triggered associatively to other memories around a milestone.
P.S. Is it not customary when connecting with another as in "following" to read an other's works and the follow? After all Medium is a community - we are definitely not Facebook.
