In astrology there is a development stage called the Uranus Opposition - aka the midlife crisis. It happened for people between the ages of 40 and 46.

For me I uncovered the truth about my childhood at 40. It broke my heart and I've been on the mend since. Knowing the truth has been replete with grief and sadness and also joy and ecstasy.

Is the goal happiness? That seems like a set-up to me. I strive for balance - that way I get to experience a wide swathe of emotions without as much attachment to any of them.
