In my opinion, opinion is a point of view with bias - in this case - of this writer. It would appear that we live in an opinion predominant culture. Medium is predominantly opinion oriented with some exceptions: 1. traditionally essays where the author provides resources to back the assertions they are presenting (rare on Medium). 2. personal experiences stories. 3. They have expertise in the field they are writing about.

Opinion is not about right or wrong necessarily. On breast feeding - sure. I go with women who have experience breastfeeding without relying on men or a model of breastfeeding based on men in a medical profession divorced from empirical evidence.

BTW logic can be used to support an opinion and be valid logic. Thinking logically with critical thought is also required (IMO) to examine the validity (and the truth) of the premise. Truth is variable depending on one's point-of-view.

One of the reasons there may be more opinions shared presently, is: 1. a hyper-focus on politics; and 2. the internet is an ideal platform for the proliferation of opinions.

Too much?
