Is there really a psychological equivalent or is your associative and/or oppositional thinking looking for a psychological fit? The battle between the "soul" (I prefer core self or essence but I realize most people refer to the divine aspect of ourselves as "soul") and ego is not necessarily "anxiety" but could also be excitement, exhilaration and on a basic energetic level - friction. The function of ego rubbing up against the divine aspect of ourselves creates friction which in turn produces energy and can be used by the compassionate neutral witness within to accelerate the growth of the core self.

There is a propensity in psychological circles to look for pathology as you seem to be doing along an oppositional (or either/or dialect). It's typical in in many thinkers to consider this or that and not consider the rainbow of possibilities between seemingly opposite poles or stances. This "deep rest" could be interpreted as a pause for reflection, calming the "overwhelm" to employ rational thought. I'm not proposing you are wrong in your oppositional thinking just that there are other possibilities other than a leap into a psychologically "depressed" state.

I find that your section on "truth" has merit. It's quite possible, though that the intuition has an answer that leaps beyond logic. Logic may "catch-up" to the intuitive leap or find logic based on new (remembered) evidence.

In my work with others as a healer/astrologer with a spiritual practice of 40 years plus I have only had one encounter with a couple who appeared to have been genuine twin-flame soulmates. The others while claiming twin-flame were probably karmic soulmates.

I like some of your conclusions. To say that we all mirror each other is only partially true its more complex than that. But unrecognized mirroring and revulsions are about a lack of wholeness within oneself.

Ego claims all divine experiences in us and that's not a bad thing. I do think we can look at the pathology of a symptom from wider perspectives within ego touching on the divine. But from the divine (or the soul level) this is just ego fooling itself with an illusion that it's the divine more often than not.
