Ishmael Reed wrote "Writin' is fightin': Thirty-seven years of Boxing On Paper" (non-fiction) and his famous novel "Mumbo Jumbo".

Maybe its because I'm old at 70 (and invisible) or lucky - or both - but I haven't had much negative commentary. Some readers misunderstand my works and the one's that do - understand - are gems in a sea of sand.
