McConnell reminds me of old man Potter in Capra's "It's a Wonderful Life" - more of community - socialist film than a Christmas film. George Bailey (the missing leader - the real leader - Bernie and now Biden) and his VP Mary Bailey who gathers the community to help her husband who was betrayed by Potter.

Mitch has betrayed all of us. He is insulated in his clique of "money-grubbers" and has closed his heart and mind (if he had one to begin with) to the people and the spirit of democracy.
