My dad was an Ivy League Graduate (Brown '44), had a extensive vocabulary, was a fierce debater and was a Conservative Republican except when he voted for Kennedy. There are many honorable conservatives.
As a liberal I respect the conservative view and I disagree with that stance. Liberals these days seem less tolerant of others that present opposing viewpoints and fall into the dialectic and divisiveness characteristic of our times.
I do wish you would not use sweeping generalizations to categorize the opposition and thereby foment the seeming stand-off of us-versus-them thinking. It accomplishes stuckness.
