Nice piece (nice meaning concise) overlay of the conspiracies mumbo-jumbo in an internet culture ensconced in a knee-jerk reaction of instantaneous gratification of belief for fact.
A number of years ago I had a debate/discussion about ego being a bad, bad thing. The person wrote that Ego was an acronym EGO -" edging out god" and that we could live from our "God" selves - a dangerous illusion in my mind. They were confusing the term ego with egoism. I reminded them that as soon as we think or say the word "I" of use language as a part of our definition we are invoking ego. That language is a technology of ego and is inescapable as a tool for perceiving reality. That unconditional love is mostly an illusion to make people feel good and get rid of negativity. In short unconditional love is impossible for most because we have egos - big conditions right there, bodies - a condition of the finite linear time-space mindset. It is nearly impossible to escape these conditions. When we are able to let go of ego for brief moments, ego stands ready on the return trip for self-aggrandizement etc.
I remain skeptical of conspiracy theories. For the ones that have seemingly valuable premises I may put them aside to see what other evidence can be gleaned or they are discarded.
Many people let their emotions/beliefs run wild on social media and forget about critical thinking. Balanced thought combined with emotional understanding (along with patience) and gut responses seem like a balanced approach to life.
