An untrained mind is subject to an ego identity highly influenced by whims. When an ego is loved by the Divine aspects of Higher Will that can flow through us ego seeks to possess this higher will. It cannot do this because higher will is of spirit.

Ego eventually learns and surrenders itself to allow the Essence within to love and hold ego. These acts of surrender or sacrifice allow divine will to flow through around and in the person.
