Pain and suffering are part of the human condition. When it comes to physical pain we often want to take a pill to get rid of it rather than feel the pain and release it. Of course, severe physical injury often needs medication to survive the experience.
A third option to pain - as in both physical and emotion is to observe and survive it. When we observe pain - especially anguish some of the attachment to the pain is released, as if by magic or miracle.
