Politicians are NUMB to working people and the poor and have been for years. They haven’t served the 99% since the mid to late 80s having grown increasing dependent on the Corporate teat. They are so insular they only serve the people (read Corporations here) and the rest don’t matter.

The pandemic is a way of culling out the people who are vulnerable with pre-existing conditions, frail immunity, the poor, sick and elderly. The poor, the majority of prisoners. minorities, immigrants are expendable. “If they die, so what?” say the GOP aloud while most Dems may condemn this they do the same thing. “Work (and)/or die,” is tRump and the GOP battle cry.

My father who was an arch-conservative (when alive — he’s passed on) asked me — regarding Archie Bunker — why conservatives are always portrayed as “stupid”. At the time there was only William F. Buckley, Jr. as a media voice of conservatism. I mentioned Buckley in my retort. “Well, conservatives have closed their hearts to people who are suffering. They are more concerned with being right than they are in caring for the plight of others outside their class.” My father grunted in response.

They (conservatives and the GOP) realized that they can’t win against the people so they have changed the rule book through Gerrymandering, purging voters etc. Let us not forget the role of the Russians in disrupting elections in favor of the braggart tRump and his dicatorial style.
