Reading your account of the mental health industry I feel lucky to have gotten out of the system in early 2016. I worked as counselor in alternative (social rehab) crisis residential treatment (1 month program) for 18 years.

My former boss had become clinical director once said in the 1990s that people that came to see him in his private practice weren't interested in long-term therapy because the idea that they would have to work on themselves wasn't their idea of therapy.

I became a healer in 1990 and remain a healer today. Am glad I got out when I did and have resumed my healing practice P/T (I'm nearly 72).
