Russian Roulette Anyone?
- Many people recover from COVID19. Of course if you’re someone like me — close to 70 y/o with a heart condition and an auto-immune disease — I’m on lockdown at home. There are other factors that we’re once thought of as people who could easily recover: babies, young age children, teens, young adults, etc, — but now these groups have been thrown into question.
- Beach goers practicing social distancing without masks. They consider open space as safer than enclosed space, but all it takes is a sneeze if you are down wind of some who is otherwise asymptomatic.
- I find trips to the grocery store or post office there is a forgetfulness and irritation with myself for forgetting my mask in the car. This I blame on biology. With summer effectively upon us here in Northern California and talk of preparing for Fire Season, my biological imperative towards opening up / expansiveness interferes with my common sense regarding a “lockdown” mentality. I have to remind myself: “Do I prefer making only essential trips out to the store with a mask? Or do I wish to get infected and die.” I choose lockdown, mask etc.
- I support my life as a physical hermit with a phone tree.
