Thanks for this wonder story. You have a way of weaving words like silk in a light warm breeze. Once again my heart opens wider drinking in the nectar of the wind and rains and plains and such.

In 1976 I started the quest-ions project - letters for travelers that loved to write with some generic questions but most were personal suited to the person and possible locales. They'd be in envelopes with instructions on when to open them. My friend Val was hitching across the US and planned to go through the Badlands - I asked her to taste a rock and describe the sensation, feelings straight or on acid etc. She was the first. I had wanted to publish them but they were destroyed in a flood in '01. But the memories of them - the wonder.
