The following method of dream interpretation originates with Robert Moss who has given many workshops on dreaming and has written many books. A friend who attended one of his workshops told his method:

Name your Dream.

Re dream you dream while awake, in other words go through the scenario of your dream and become the different characters of the dream. Even the door could be a character.

I have had many recurring dreams. When I was a kid the same nightmare night after night. One night I woke up yelling "No, no, no." while pounding my fist into the wall. My father came in and asked what was wrong. I had forgotten the dream by that time. "I don't know. Bad dream I guess." Later I remembered what it was - the repaetive dream of my childhood. When I was beginning my recovery from childhood ritual sexual abuse and was in Kauai (the healing island of Hawaii) I had that dream again repeatedly while camping. It was related to the trauma.

Now I have recurring dreams - I call some of them "Failure at my Old Job or Old School Dreams". Lately though I've been having different dreams in the same locale.
