There is another technique for relieving the desire to pick-up a cig and smoke it - it also engenders a sense of peace.
Use your finger to follow the back of your neck - along your spine to the base of your skull. Massage it a little. Feel the sensation of that spot. Take your finger away.
Put your attention on that spot. As you breathe in - visualize yourself breathing into that spot. Hold your breath at spot for a microsecond and exhale. It should relieve the desire to pick up a cigarette. And it could create a feeling of peace.
