There's a remarkable well structured science-fiction novel that reads like well meaning liberals encountering humanoid ETs on a planet light years from here - that is mean to address wokeness. She explains her desire to suspend judgment of Columbus from our perspective (1992). The treatise of her novel addresses the impact of such thinking in a brilliant fashion. It's a one of two series. The second book is a wash. The first book is called The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell. Highly recommended even if you dislike science fiction, because it reads like a work of suspense and social-anthropology.
