Comfort is the natural homeostasis of us humans. The results of comfort throw us into habitual actions to reinforce that comfort. The habitual actions are repetitive by definition. Comfort reinforces illusion and attachment to illusion.

Adversity can be a good teacher as long as we don't try fix it solutions that become temporary patches. Adversity is a kind of friction that when faced polishes the soul.

PS The 5 great things you listed for gratefulness especially - the house to sleep in, food in the fridge, hot water. I would add electricity, plus spoken and written words.
