This makes me laugh AG. And this is excellent advice if you accept and play the adversarial game. The world is with you, because there are super games of competition out there. The set of challenger and defender is a game theory of a zero-sum game. Meaning, as you know, winning against a loser.
My father was obsessed with using his intellect as a weapon. He felt inferior so his addiction with superiority was to bait me into losing so he could win. Once I saw this I let go of my anger of losing and had fun instead.
He gave me a rare inadvertent gift. To see beyond competition and play the infinite non zero-sum game or a win/win game. I can play the zero non-sum game in a competitive setting for fun. This is competition against myself for excellence.
Taking this a step further I have embraced adversaries as friends. By entering Being-States of consciousness I have included warring factions in small settings and larger ones to broker peace.
