Thoughts and a perspective on the American Dream:

It's a myth - like a dangling carrot for the poor, people of color, the working class, the the almost non-existent middle class and some professionals. The myth harkens back to the Greeks and the Elysium Field of the west - the life after death garden where heroes frolicked. The deeper roots of the myth of the American Dream is couched in the patriarchy.

The US Declaration of Independence using the word "Independence" precludes how we as the human animals are separate from our home Earth and displays the self-centered arrogance or our species as a whole. A better word would be "Interdependence".

The famous second line of The US Declaration of Independence:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

It obviously excludes women, slaves Africans - people of color as non-human and the pursuit of Happiness - as in to pursuit of The American Dream (for white men of property). Only those who owned property were allowed to vote.

The founding fathers were not to blame because they were creatures of their age operating within the higher levels of consciousness at that particular time in history. They were inculcated with the patriarchal values of their time and could not see beyond it.

The crux of the American Dream being held out for anyone is a lie to keep "the dirty unwashed population" in serfdom or slavery. This is the function of a hierarchical system of rule known as the patriarchy.

There will always a group or somebody below us in the pecking order. The divisiveness of our age coupled with the greed and lust for power in predatory capitalism could be the logical end of the patriarchy.

Why? The Climate Crisis requires cooperation if we are to save the human species. Also from a wider perspective according to new mathematical calculations the Ascending Kali Yuga will end in 2025 CE 4 years from now followed by a 300 year buffer or cusp period when the new age - The Ascending Dwapara Yuga begins.
