You left out a few things:

• The continued melting / thawing of the permafrost will release million year-old viruses that will make the COVID-19 virus look like a walk-in-the-park.
• Its quite possible that by the end of this year — 2020 through actions of the climate crisis and Trump’s reckless roll-backs of The Clean Water Act that many water systems will become poisoned.
• Fires, floods, extreme weather, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions will accelerate during the 2020s with increasing frequency.

The collapse of civilization will increase faster than you suggest.

However about one million humans are likely to survive.

Some of us will give up. Some will seek comfort, while others hide-out. Even as the inevitable occurs as it has already begun to occur, does that mean we should give up?

Or we could work to relieve suffering up to the end. I hope I will continue to do this until my body or my life gives out.
