Umair, you've turned "The Natural Capitalism" idea on its head and monetized nature. In theory I love your idea.

My feeling is that it wouldn't work because we are monetizing / objectifying nature when it is sacred.

And that could easily backfire - become befuddled with greed and corruption.

A modified plan might take your idea - a Universal Basic Income (UBI) for every person on the planet. A sales tax based on sustainability - the least sustainable would be taxed more and the most sustainable would be taxed less. Income tax would be retained. Incentives could be given for those that make quick shifts to sustainability and tax penalties could be inflicted on corps and individual who refuse to move to sustainability.
