Up the street (a no-thru street) from me are people who own Teslas, about 4 or 6 of them. About 6 months ago the power went out, an old equipment failure I was told. Could have been during peak usage?

The electric grid in the US is shoddy and needs updating due to the demand placed on it now without including EV auto ownership. Unlike London the EV charge points are few and far between. Since I have to park on the street having my own charge point installed here would be an additional expense.

So I'm thinking of getting a Plug-In Hybrid as a option - especially if I buy a house or move to a place where I park off street. I live in Northern California.
