Most anger is acting-out anger. Once an impulse occurs to go to anger its nearly impossible to stop it due to the release of adrenaline, catecholamines and dopamine.

Anger (and acting-out anger) are part of the grieving process, frustrations about limitations, compulsions (such as perfectionism) and more...

It is possible to display anger without acting it out - as in blow-ups, tantruming, and over-reactions, but this requires a lot of work. Expects slips, lots of them.
