When are feelings not involved in women and men?

I was like most men of my generation (boomers), thinking women were cryptic beyond belief. In my 20s and early 30s I was not in touch with my feelings. As I was helped while in relationship with an older woman (15 years my senior) I came to understand - that as a man I had a great depth of feelings that were never adequately put to words.

Whereas women were experts at putting feelings to all the nuances of words. They seemed to constantly want to process feelings whereas I wanted to fix feelings. My partner helped me to put words to feelings and process them with her. This helped us through problems.

In my early 40s I uncovered the wounds of childhood that broke my heart. Another story for a different time.

I admire and applaud your honesty. But I don't think we men have to fix all our problems before entering into relationship, just the really thorny ones.

Thank you for allowing yourself to be vulnerable. πŸ™
