While I agree that sustainability is not possible by individual action - I will not stop curbing my consumerisms.
1. In Oregon they ask you if you want your receipt (by law) and if you say no - they don't print it. Not all receipts contain toxic chemicals its a state by state process.
2. AGREED! Advertising from snail mail. I re-use blank paper from the insides of envelopes etc for lists, but some envelopes are made from composite materials - plastic bonded with paper and is not recyclable.
3. AGREED! I no longer get bags from supermarkets. I take my items - draped over with recycled plastic coverings if there is precipitation and put the items in my cooler. I hounded industries that switched to composite materials in the '80s to no avail.

5. AGREED! I avoid many apps for the most part though marketing for mobile apps continues to assault me. I reluctantly bought a smartphone last year that I use as a dumb phone...
