Working on presence involves constant work of applying a non-attached awareness (coupled with compassion and loving kindness) to release attachments to happiness, sadness, loss, physical pain etc. It doesn't mean that happiness, sadness, loss or physical pain vanishes. It means my attachment to these emotions and sensations are released in the moment. The release is freedom. The attachments come back though when I think or say I.
