At I was at my sister and brother-in-law's place (he was a doctor) in the 90s. They had a surgeon and his wife over for dinner. The surgeon asked what I did for a living. When I answered I might as well have said that I was a fart cleaning specialist for the cushions in the NYC subway. He and his wife treated me as if I wasn't there the rest of the evening. I thought it funny. Because since 1983 I began working where there was meaning for me.
